last week obama announced that the federally mandated 2.9% is the raise that the military will get for 2010. we’ve all done tight years before and we’ll do it again I suppose; however the real kick in the sack is that he will raise the pay of foriegn soldiers who are serving in whatever capacity they serve a 15% raise,I was literally in tears. He wants to cut American military spending but send more soldiers into Afghanistan. he wants to cut defense spending but wants to wage his own war overseas and then give Palestine over 900 million dollars. is anyone reading between the lines here? he says he wants to raise taxes on the evil rich corporations but doesn’t care if actors and sports players make hundreds of millions. psst obama is a millionaire and so are many of his cabinet. if that’s not the definition of contradiction I don’t know what is. he has also just plain lied to everyone. he said there would be no pork or lobbyists in his administration. yet the spending bill (he didn’t write or read) was laden with pork and several of his cabinet members are lobbyists and tax cheats. his knew fiscal budget is over 3 trillion that’s just for this year. and it is dripping with pork spending. he wants to nationalize banks and health care as well as take away the private vote for those in a union giving the union reps more power than the employer. does any of this make sense to any of you?

Musings Finally

Ok the reason I started this blog in the first place, not just what it’s for or what it will mean. All that was covered in “In the Beginning” 1st and foremost I am a writer I write books and such and I enjoy it immensely. I’ve often thought of doing this but basically figured I didn’t have that much to say, and like most times I was mistaken. Something about being officially middle-aged as I was expressing to my wife this morning has sparked a certain diarrhea of the mouth as my grandmother would say.
NOW,
The spark that lit this fire, my wife, me, our two dogs Pooper (Licensed name: Thor the Mighty Weenie Dog) Zoë, and our cat Sorcha. On one of my very few days off were sitting down to watch my burned copy of Marley and me. I’ll watch any manner of movie or television show if it contains a writer even for a few minutes. I laughed and at the end I cried like a 12 y/o girl with a skinned knee. In the movie the “and me” of the title is a writer who has a column. Something I have considered many times but the conundrum of the lack of a degree to justify getting such a fine job and really wanting to get paid to write became a puzzle for the ages. So after much soul searching (Definition of soul searching, Soul searching: To bang ones head against a blunt or hard flat surface amid frustrations of unrealized dreams.)
Here you have two choices
A) You never even try and you grow old angry and alone, destitute in the streets in an alley where the rats wont hang out with you; but the lawyers will.
Or
B) You can at least try and say you gave a good effort. The old it’s better to be a has been……

If you’re reading this you know what I decided and now I’m opening everything up to you good people out there.

In The Beginning

I want to welcome you all to the “Strange Chronicles” this will be a voice for me and you. My plan right now is to write short rants of aptitude and insanity. To write long rambling essays and basically anything else I need to get off my chest. I welcome your opinions and rants as well. come here and scream as well, we’ll do it in harmony but I have one hard and fast rule Make It Mean Something. Now I cannot promise this will be updated daily. If I get into the habit of it all the better for all of us. Give me some time to build this site and make it what it should be and I think it will be a wonderful tool. I hope to hear from all of you soon.
